Jon finally had a break from school so we planned a trip to California. This was going to be our first time getting to fly together because usually Jon can't stay as long. So we left the house at 5 am and headed to the airport. Made our flight and was on our way to Las Vegas then to switch plans to Sand Diego. Well, the flight attendant said that our Gate had changed so we rushed to the "new" location and waited. Once it was time for the Family boarding the man taking the tickets asked us where we were planning on going. We said, "To San Diego". He said this flight was going to Phoenix and that our flight left 10 minutes ago!!! So we had to board the Phoenix flight just to be on Stand By on a flight to San Diego. There was enough room for us 3 on both flights but it took a total of 9 hours for us to get to California! Next time- No layovers!!
On the bright side, we had amazing weather while the entire time. Here is just one thing we got to do while visiting:
Jack and Wes's Pirate Party!
It was in Nicole and Jason's newly finished backyard. Eli loved their swing set and the pools!
The Yummy Cupcakes
Wes, Jack and their Aunt Taylee
Mr. Eli with his new Pirate shirt from Aunt Lisa and the hat we got for him ... which we left in California but we found it in a store here in Utah!
Mommy and Eli loving the swing and the sun
The kids got Pirate tatoos
David making a scary face eating some great meatballs!
Jon in charge of the BBQ
Kasey and Preston surprised us all and made a quick trip down from Utah to be there for the party!
Eli and Grandma
Sisters
Eli's FAVORITE part . . . Swimming!
Where's Eli . . .
There he is!!!
Happy Birthday to Jack who turned 4 and Es who turned 3! Love you boys!

Looks like such a cute party!
What a fun trip! (Minus the actual getting there - that's rough!) Glad you posted this on facebook; I love reading other people's blogs!
