Girls Craft Night

I have always wanted to learn how to make those cute felt flowers, so last night we had a girls night which included a taco dinner and cookies! I bought every color of felt they had at Michaels for the night. We all were doing our own thing and jabbering up a storm so I only got two flowers made, but they were super cute... I should have taken pictures of them!

Also, some good news, Our friend Nicole ( the one in the purple shirt) had her doctors appointment and she is dilated to a 3! Her due date is October 5th, but we're betting she delivers a little early.

Crafts... Oh how fun

I have had this old frame for a while now and its missing one of the glass squares, so I was just going to throw it out! Then, I had an idea that I could make something out of it that did not include all the glass squares... A Accessory frame! So I bought some vinyl words, paint, fabric and a few more minor items and got to work.
Ta- da! I love it! She loves it! We all love it! Success! Taylee was so excited to see some of her jewlery on there mixed with a few other items that I had added for her! Happy Birthday!
I also came across this super cute Spring fabric and decided to make a few easter dresses for Taylee and Christine ( my two youngest sisters) and a skirt for my niece Ava. Since I did not have a complete pattern and this was one of my first "clothes" items I have EVER made, I kept them simple but added a little detail!

Handmade Envelopes

Here's something I did when I was cleaning out my closet and found an old calendar. They are super easy and turned out way cute. To seal them I think I'll just use string or go buy some of those push tacks ( not sure what they actually are called) from the store and glue them on!

Fabric Head Bands

Here is what I did with that fabric I purchased at IKEA. I love them! Great gift idea too! I already gave 1 away with a birthday gift for my sister. I really want to try making those fabric flowers so if anyone knows of a good site to go to that will walk you through it step by step, Please let me know!

I just stripped two old head bands that I don't wear any more, or you can go buy some at the dollar store or target
Use the head band as a guide and make an outline
Cut about 1/4 inch way from the outline
Start on the top and use a glue gun to make it stick (note: do not use a lot of glue or it bleeds through the material!)
Then use a ribbon to cover the unfinished edges underneath

Magazine Organizer

I have a tone of magazines, anywhere from home decor to weddings to family and really needed a way to organize them in our office. So heres a how to if you have just 10 minutes with nothing to do...
Find an old box, fed Ex boxes work great too
Use a ruler and make your guide to cut out on all sides
This is what it should look like once cut
Then use some fabric or wrapping paper to cover. I used wrapping paper this time, but i think i'll use thick fabric next time so it looks nicer.

Wall Art and Pillows

To start decorating our apartment, i decided that we need to add so punch of color to our walls. Jon and I went to Lowes and bought 12 peices of wood that were 2 feet long. 1. We nailed them together to forms boxes 2. Cut and ironed the fabric 3. used gorilla glue and nails to secure the fabric to the boards 4. let them dry 5. Display!
Then I had some left over fabric, bought some orange matching buttons and decided to make some pillow covers. I look off the old pillow covers that came with the couch and sewed on the new and now everything goes gether! I am going to atempt to create a table runner with the same fabric. Fun projects to add some character all for about $40! (including the supplies since we did not even own a hammer!)
